Entry is by online registration until midnight on Friday 31 May 2024. There will be no on-the-day registrations.

Entering using a credit card will incur an online service fee charged by the registration hosting company.

EVENT AGE RESTRICTIONS AND PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Milnes Beatson Half Marathon 21.1km

Age restriction: 16+ years.

Competitors to be able to cover a road half marathon in under 2hrs30min.

Due to performance requirements, we expect all competitors to attempt to run most of the course.


Kaiteriteri Gold 16km

Age restriction: 14+ years.

Competitors to be able to cover a road 10km in under 1hr30min.

Due to performance requirements, we expect all competitors to attempt to run most of the course.


Kaiteriteri Gold 8km

Age restriction 10+ years.

There is no performance requirement for this event and competitors may run, walk or hybrid, any or all of the course.


Kaiteriteri Gold Kids 3.2km

Ages 5 to 14. Parents/Caregivers may accompany their children for free.


COMPETITOR CHECK-IN AND RACE NUMBER PICK-UP

Event check-in will be open from 8:15am on event day 02 June at the EventHQ at the rear of the Kaiteriteri Reserve Camp. Google maps HERE.


CARPARKING

Car parking is available at the main car park & beach side car park in Kaiteriteri.


COURSE SUMMARY

Milnes Beatson Half Marathon 21.1km

The course offers a mix of running terrains including technical single track, easier single track and sections of forestry road. After 4km there is a 3km section that rises 200m which is the steepest part of the course. The second half of the course is easier but there are still a few short uphill pinches. From 16km the course is mostly downhill. If the course is wet, it will be muddy & slippery in places.


Kaiteriteri Gold 16km

The course offers a mix of running terrains including technical single track, easier single track and a section of forestry road. Kaiteriteri Gold 8km

The course offers easy single track with gentle undulations.

The course offers easy single track with gentle undulations.


TOILETS

There are toilets located close to EventHQ at the rear of the Kaiteriteri Reserve Camp, also some close to the coffee shop and public toilets next to the main car parking area.

There are no toilets on the course.

The start/finish line is located close to EventHQ at the rear of the Kaiteriteri Reserve Camp. Google maps HERE.


EVENT BRIEFING

Race briefing will be held 10 minutes before each start at the start line. It is compulsory to attend the race briefing for your event.


CREW INSTRUCTIONS

You must follow the instructions of the Event Crew at all times.

All courses will be supported with aid stations.  Aid stations will be at the following km marks and will be stocked with water:

ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY GEAR

It is your responsibility to ensure you have suitable gear available on the day to cover all eventualities. Competitors should be conscious of the weather, their ability and the type of course they are competing on. This is a list of possible gear you may consider taking: hat, gloves, water, food, small first aid kit, long sleeve thermal top, windproof/weatherproof jacket, whistle & survival blanket. 

Ensure that your footwear is suitable for the trails in the area. 

Please ensure you carry enough medication for any conditions you have should you experience an injury.

Any litter must be taken out and disposed of at the finish line.


PRIZEGIVING

At EventHQ shortly after the last competitor has finished at approximately 12:30pm.


AWARDS & SPOT PRIZES

All performance prizes, spot prizes and major spot prizes are awarded at the prize-giving which will take place at approximately 12:30 at EventHQ.  All competitors will be eligible for spot prizes and these will be randomly drawn at prize-giving. You must be in attendance to pick up a spot prize.

Performance prizes will be awarded to 1st placing for Men and Women in each age group category in each event. These will be based solely on the participant's time in their age group. There will be no separate categories for runners, hybrids or walkers. The age group categories are as follows for men and women:


Milnes Beatson Half Marathon 21.1km 16-19 years, 20-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70+


Kaiteriteri Gold 16km 14-19 years, 20-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70+


Kaiteriteri Gold 8km Under 14, 14-19 years, 20-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70+


Kaiteriteri Gold Kids 3.2km Under 10, 10-14


TIMING & RACE NUMBERS

The event will be timed. Competitors must wear their "Race Number" fully visible on their front at all times. There will be check points on the course where numbers are recorded.


WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS

Please note that we do not allow entries to be transferred to other competitors, other events or for future years. As we are a non-profit organisation, no refunds will be given.
